XI Portuguese Open & Masters 2016

This year’s Portuguese Open will be marked as “Mario Sequeira Memorial”, the well-known international backgammon traveler from Portugal who sadly passed away in the past year. We will keep his memory alive by celebrating backgammon near his residence in Portugal.

The “sunshine, beach and family” event will take place for the 11th time in a row at the Riviera Hotel**** in Carcavelos with shops, restaurants, cafés and the beach nearby.

The Portuguese Open will be a free entry tournament on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by the Portuguese Masters over the weekend. 

Various side-events will be lined up and we´ll have “farewell”-drinks on the beach after the awards ceremony and the fingerfood on Sunday.

Come and enjoy the excellent food and wines, the warm sunshine, the sandy beaches and the inexpensive and lavish lifestyle, after the Monte Carlo tournaments, and enjoy as a contrast the relaxing “backgammon holidays” among friends and with your family.

Special Backgammon Rate”: 95 € / night (single or double occupancy), including breakfast.

Please make your reservation quickly and mention ”backgammon” upon booking. Rooms at the backgammon rate are limited and requests after filling the quota or passing the cut-off date  will be accepted on a
space-and-rate available basis.

NB: For players not staying in the tournament hotel during the entire tournament days, there will be a 100€ fee to ocver for the penalty charge regarding the room quota (does not apply to local players. No other exceptions). Make your room reservation quickly as the hotel is always booked out in the summer.
