MICHI WINS 9th PORTUGUESE OPEN 2014

Congratulations to all winners in Portugal !

WBA´s 9th Portuguese Open was held at the Riviera Hotel in Carcavelos, out of Lisbon, from 14th to 17th of August. 

Congratulations to Michihito "Michi" KAGEYAMA from Japan for a terrific performance of 9 victories and 1 defeat to take the title. Kudos to 2nd place Martin KAHN from France for a great result at his second international tournament participation ever. 3rd place went to Pedro MACHADO from Portugal and 4th to Alain BABILLON from France. Germany´s Tilman SÖHNCHEN was able to win the Ultimate Fight over his  fellow countryman Tobias HELLWAG.

The popular DMP-Challenge was won by Michael URBAN (Germany) while the SpeedGammon-Contest went to Ian MAC FARLANE from Brazil who had to beat French Franck STEPLER twice.

Ian MAC FARLANE and Ronald AMORIM from Brazil also took the Doubles title, winning the final over Leslie LOCKETT (USA) & Ed BENNETT (USA).

The Special Award went to Kazuko NUMAZAWA from Japan.

The next Portuguese Open will take place in August 2015, during the weekend after Monte-Carlo, probably from 13th to 16th of August. Expect some nice surprizes for the 10th Anniversary of the "Sunshine, Family & Fun Tournament" in Portugal and mark down the dates for your travel plans.
