Germany Backgammon Capital welcomes you back for the inaugural tournament of the German Masters Series in 2016.
Berlin is a fantastic, vibrant and historical destination, easy to reach by plane, train or car. The city has the biggest and most active backgammon community in Germany. The Victor’s Residenz Hotel**** is centrally located, in Berlin’s new “Mitte”-district, close to Alexanderplatz and the historical buildings. Public transportation will take you quickly anywhere for sightseeing and/or other activities.
The BERLIN OPEN & MASTERS is part of the prestigious GERMAN MASTERS SERIES 2016 and part of the WBA Circuit 2016. Every match of the OPEN and the MASTERS will count towards the German National Ranking. Additionally, every match of the MASTERS will count towards the WBA Point Race 2016.
The BERLIN OPEN, is a free entry tournament in a Single Elimination Format. The GERMAN MASTERS will be available in 2 divisions and feature WBA’s computerized T-Swiss System (triple elimination + Ultimate Fight). Various side-events are lined up (Quarter-entries, DMP-Challenge, Doubles, Mini-Jackpots).
10% of the Prize-Pool from the Masters Division will go in the yearly pool, which will be re-distributed at the Grand Finale of the GERMAN MASTERS SERIES.
Top 4 players of each stop and additionally top 4 of the total ranking will qualify for the Grand Finale which will take place in Prague in November 2016, prior to the PRAGUE OPEN & MASTERS.
